How To Up-cycle Charity Shop Finds

I found this plate in my local charity shop and it was perfect for trying out a potential new design.
I find some amazing bits to up-cycle!
I found this plate in my local charity shop and it was perfect for trying out a potential new design so this is my how to up-cycle a charity shop find!
I often try out new designs like this so I know exactly how something is going to look IRL before moving on to production - sometimes it’s tough to visualise on a screen or on paper. So good job my local high street has about 10 charity shops for me to frequent really!

Sometimes you can get really lucky in a charity shop and sometimes you find absolutely nothing, but hunting for gems is all part of the fun. London has so many, you will find what you're looking for eventually!
Not only are you able to find beautiful and vintage pieces for a fab price but you're helping great causes.

I thoroughly enjoyed designing this plate!

I used ceramic paints from amazon linked here.

I've been loving using pink and green together recently and was so happy with the results!

I popped it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 160C to heat set the design (IMPORTANT! Leave in oven to cool!) and voila!

I would highly recommend complimenting your gorg cake plate with some pretty tea plates...

I will deffo be doing this again so watch this space!
