How to: DIY Plate Wall

After receiving a lot of love for my plate wall, I thought I would share a more in-depth tutorial on how I achieved it!
After receiving a lot of love for my plate wall, I thought I would share a more in-depth tutorial on how I achieved it!

First and foremost, you will need some gorgeous plates that you can be proud to display. I used some vintage tea plates (a forever obsession that inspired my brand!) with some of my most beloved designs such as the tiger and parrot tea plates.

I like to use a mix of sizes and laid them out on the floor before I put them up to help with the all-important placement decisions, especially when nails are going in the wall!

P.S. if you order one of my sets, that’s already a few beautiful designs! I even have a selected bundle specifically for making a plate wall here...

I often pick up pieces from markets and charity shops. I recently visited Hackney Flea Market and fell in love with all the gorgeous pieces they had there!

For my display I used these amazon hooks linked here…

They're super easy to use, you just stick them on the back of the plate and hang the plates up - it's as simple as that!
I love seeing your plates walls, look how amazing this one below by @baliol.house is! See if you can spot my sausage dog and parrot plates…

I often have reviews from you guys getting inspired and using different Yvonne Ellen products for your plate walls – just the other day one of you used on of my trinket dishes! I thought this was so creative I decided to give it a go myself.

A plate wall is a unique way to express personal style, adding texture and dimension to your lovely space. Compared to traditional wall art, it can add more personalisation by showcasing cherished pieces and reflecting your favourite designs. I love things that are a bit different and plate walls are great for adding charm as well as visual interest!
