Another IKEA Transformation

I just can’t resist!
I’m back with another DIY IKEA hack because I just love doing them so much.
This time I transformed the ACKJA lamp and here’s how I did it;

Obviously to do this yourself you will need to get your hands on the ACKJA lamp and the TRÅDFRI bulb...

I used the Montana Cans' spray paint in the shades Venice & Salmon for the base colours. It was really fun to spray these on.

After pencil-drawing out my stripes I hand-painted them on with Farrow and Ball’s Beverly paint and Craig and Rose’s Troubadour – so satisfying!!

I can’t resist adding a bit of gold, so I used some gold leaf that I got from amazon, placing it on top of some wiggly lines that I painted on with some glue.

Brushing off the excess was rather pleasing I can't lie!

Add the bulb, place in your living room and admire your work!

I loved doing this because it didn’t take forever to make something that’s personalised and much better suited to my living room décor – it’s all about the finishing touches. Plus I find a quick little paint is always therapeutic.
If you love stripes like I do, why not have a little mooch of some of my stripey products...
