This stunning Birds of Paradise wall mural is reminiscent of antique Chinese paper screens or "pingfeng", and depicts a fantastical flock of scarlet Ibis wading on a beautifully clear wetland while fallen feathers float above.

The design is printed on a textured ground with a pearlescent mica effect for added statement. This mural is "paste the wall" which means you do not add wallpaper paste to the back of the paper before hanging. Instead, you (or your decorator) add paste to the wall before hanging the paper onto it. Full instructions below and in the product when delivered.

Made from 49% cellulose pulp, 12% Polyester, 39% Filler/Binder/ Pigments

This mural is made up of three individual panels which are supplied as one continuous roll measuring 68.5cm in width and 9m in length.

There is a helpful dotted line showing where to cut the roll into the three 3m panels ready for hanging.

The height of the mural is variable as the bottom and top of the paper can be trimmed to fit your wall. We recommend you trim from the top of each panel so you keep as much of the bird design as possible.

The completed design will be 205.5cm wide but additional murals can be added as the design is continuous meaning there is no limit to the final width of your mural.

Once hung, this mural can be carefully spot cleaned with a lightly damp sponge. Don't rub too hard!

All of Yvonne Ellen's designs are greatly inspired by vintage artworks, hand drawn or painted and then lifted with a pop of pastel colour or a quirky element - sometimes both!

IMPORTANT

Before hanging check that rolls are undamaged, that numbers and letters are the same for each roll of this design and that all colours match. Return any defective roll with its label to where it was purchased. Take extra care when papering around electric light switches and power points. Do not allow moisture to drip onto electrical contacts.

PREPARATION

Prepare wall by removing all traces of dirt, old wallpaper, or loose paint. Do not hang wallcoverings on any wall with a history of damp. Fill any cracks and allow to dry before hanging. Absorbent surfaces should be appropriately sized using a diluted wallpaper adhesive. Sealed walls, i.e. painted should be rubbed with sandpaper to create a key.

It is important that the walls are of an even and consistent colour. If they are not then consideration should be given to painting them with an appropriate colourwash. Alternatively, we recommend that walls be lined' horizontally using a good quality lining paper. Allow this to fully dry.

HANGING

We recommend the use of a light ready mixed adhesive. Evenly apply the adhesive directly onto the wall using a brush or a short pile emulsion roller: It is not necessary to pre-cut the lengths of paper as it can be applied direct from the roll. Apply the wallcovering to the wall and smooth down with a good quality hanging brush or plastic spatula. Do not overlap, use butt joins.

CAREFULLY WIPE ANY EXCESS PASTE FROM THE FACE OF THE PAPER IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN DAMP SPONGE BEFORE IT DRIES.

After hanging 2 or 3 lengths, inspect the results to ensure that there is no shading or other fault.

Most of our teacups are made in our fabulous factory based in China who are experts at the fine bone china we are so well known for as well as the stunning colours and gold highlights. The same goes for all our other bone china tableware except for our vintage items - they're mostly made in England but as they are all sourced individually as and when I find them, I can't guarantee their country of origin.
